Although direct evidence of influenza vaccination benefits in children with asthma is limited and some trials have failed to demonstrate positive effects of the influenza vaccination on asthma exacerbations caused by influenza infections in children, the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP), and several international organizations and advisory committees strongly recommend annual influenza vaccination for children with asthma.
